NDA report card 'without substance', says Manmohan Wednesday, May 25 2005 17:03 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today (May 25, 2005) dismissed as "without any substance" the NDA's (National Democratic Alliance) report card on UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government's one year in office, which the former had dubbed as a "year of non-performance and misgovernance".
"It is without any substance and their's is a half-hearted attempt," Singh told sources in New Delhi when asked to comment on Opposition BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party)-led alliance's criticism of the one-year rule of his Government.
In the report card, the NDA had sought to put on the mat the ruling coalition on all fronts charging it with devaluing the Prime Minister's Office and demanding disbanding of the National Advisory Council (NAC) headed by Sonia Gandhi.
Singh, however, parried questions on the situation in Bihar following dissolution of the Assembly.
The Prime Minister, who was the first to file nomination for re-election of Sonia Gandhi as Congress President, expressed confidence that she would be unanimously re-elected.
