'NDA is banking on voters' anger to win in Bihar' Thursday, May 26 2005 09:56 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
With Bihar heading for another round of Assembly elections, National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is banking on the "anger" among voters against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for "getting the House dissolved" and Lok Janashakti Party's (LJP) "pro-Laloo tilt" as reflected by its readiness to support a Muslim from that party for Chief Ministership.
"NDA hopes to reap bumper electoral harvest this time as people are very angry with RJD which got House dissolved when it smelt that NDA was at a striking distance. NDA will also get benefit from LJP leader Ram Vilas Paswan's pro-Laloo tilt as reflected by the support extended to Jabir Hussain," senior Janata Dal United (JDU) leader Nitish Kumar told sources in New Delhi today (May 26, 2005).
Asked as to how he visualised the political scenario ahead of the polls, the second within this year, Kumar said the greatest difference this time was that the electorate would vote with a clear mind.
"Last time they were confused. They were clear only in defeating RJD. But they did not know whom to install. So their votes were wasted here and there and LJP picked up 29 seats," he said.
