About 15 killed; several injured in Pak bomb blast

Islamabad: At least 15 people were killed and several injured in a suicide bomb attack on the shrine of Sufi Saint Bari Imam in Islamabad today (May 27, 2005).

Pakistan's Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed told Geo TV that so far 10 people have been killed in the blast, which took place in the shrine's compound located in the outskirts of Islamabad.

Police officials at the scene, however, said 10 to 15 persons were killed in the attack. Scores of injured have been rushed to the hospital.

Thousands of devotees from across the world were attending a five-day festival, which ends today, at the time of the explosion.
