RSS to pursue with US website over terror links
Sunday, May 29 2005 08:58 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Nagpur: RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) said it never took "seriously" the US website, which has described it as an terrorist outfit and placed it alongside Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Jamat-e-Islami and other terror bodies.

"We never took it seriously but we will pursue the matter with them," RSS spokesman Ram Madhav told reporters, in Nagpur on the sidelines of a RSS briefing on the ongoing third year camp.

"There are three million websites and who is writing what is somewhat difficult to know. But when we came to know last year, we took up the matter with the so-called American think-tank, which said the input in the website was on the basis of information from India," Madhav said.

The so-called think-tank comprises some former US bureaucrats and policemen, he added.

On the controversy of RSS chief Sudarshan's television interview asking senior leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L K Advani to relinquish the office for younger generation, Madhav said there were some misconceptions due to piecemeal presentation and once the full interview was aired, these were rather cleared.

He dismissed reports of differences between senior ideologue H V Sheshadri and Sudarshan saying it was a media creation.

To a question that young congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka might lead the party for next elections while the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) is likely to continue with old set of leaders, Madhav said in Congress all prominent leaders are plus 75.
