LJP will remain a part of UPA Government: Paswan

Kanpur: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan yesterday (May 29, 2005) said his party would remain in the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government, which had successfully completed one-year in office.

Talking to reporters in Kanpur, he praised Manmohan Singh describing him as a different type of Prime Minister.

Spotlight: Bihar Elections

The Union Minister said the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was trying to topple the UPA Government at the Centre and, therefore, his party would remain in the UPA.

On Bihar, Paswan said he favoured a Muslim Chief Minister in the State.

The LJP chief was in Kanpur to attend a function marking culmination of one-year in office of the UPA Government.

Union Minister of State for Home, Sri Prakash Jaiswal, also attended the function.
