Seer: HC grants conditional bail to Iyer & Raghu Tuesday, May 31 2005 20:28 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

The Madras High Court today (May 31, 2005) granted conditional bail to the Manager of Kanchi Mutt, Sundaresa Iyer, Junior Shankaracharya's brother, Raghu and to Meenakshisundaram, yet another accused, in two cases including the Sankararaman murder case.
Justice Sardar Zakariah Hussain granted the bail to all the three accused in the murder case and also in the narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances case, while denying bail to two others, Kathiravan and Rajni, who were part of the mercenary gang that eliminated the temple official Sankararaman in September last.
As per the bail conditions, all the three should execute a bond for Rs 25,000 and two sureties for a like sum. While Iyer should stay in Villupuram and sign the register twice in police station, Raghu and Meenakshisundaram should stay in Coimbatore and Tiruchirappalli respectively to sign registers.
In the narcotics case, the three accused should execute a bond for Rs 5000 each and two sureties for like sum.
