President A P J Abdul Kalam today (Jun 1, 2005) arrived in Kiev on a four-day State visit to Ukraine during which talks would be held on bilateral and international issues as also better cooperation in space research.
India will also seek support from Ukraine, an influential CIS country, for its candidature to United Nations Security Council.
During his four-day stay, the President would also be visiting a missile factory besides holding wide-ranging consultations ranging from international politics to science and technology besides giving a further boost to trade relations between the two countries.
The President was received at Boryspil airport by Anatoly Kinakh, first Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine.
A Ukrainian girl in traditional attire presented bread and salt and requested President Kalam to break a piece of bread and dip it in salt and eat.
