Key to peace lies with India, not with Pak: Geelani

Srinagar: Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani today (Jun 3, 2005) said the key to peace in Kashmir lies with India and not with Pakistan.

"I desire peace in Kashmir but cannot do it on my own. The key to peace lies with New Delhi and not with Pakistan or Kashmiris," he told a Friday congregation in Baramulla district's Pattan area.

Spotlight: Kashmir is NOT negotiable

On the ongoing Indo-Pak dialogue, the chairman of the hardline faction of Hurriyat Conference said though it started in January last year, the ground situation in Jammu and Kashmir remained the same.

"Everyone is parroting peace, but nobody talks about withdrawal of troops in the hype of welcome gestures and dialogue," he said.
