CBI should change style of functioning, says CPM Saturday, June 4 2005 16:09 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Kolkata:
CPM (Communist Party of India-Marxist) today (June 4, 2005) criticised CBI for not being able to stop corruption in high places by the kind of investigations it was conducting and called for a change in its style of functioning.
Commenting on the quashing of the Bofors case by Delhi High Court because of lack of tangible evidence, CPM politburo member Sitaram Yechuri said, ''Corruption in high places cannot be stopped in this kind of investigations and CBI should change its way of functioning''.
''All these years, CBI was the principal investigating agency in Bofors case, but it has not been able to submit tangible evidences in the case,'' Yechuri told reporters during a break at the CPM central committee meeting now in session in Kolkata.
