Secular forces will return to power in Bihar: Laloo
Saturday, June 4 2005 09:37 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Chapra: Asserting that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was living in a fool's paradise that it would gain from dissolution of the Bihar Assembly, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president and Railway Minister Laloo Prasad yesterday (Jun 3, 2005) said a secular Government on the pattern of United Progressive Alliance (UPA) at the Centre would come to power after fresh polls in the State.

''NDA is living in a fool's paradise thinking that they would politically gain from dissolution of Assembly and will be voted to power. There is no doubt that the secular forces led by RJD will come to power in Bihar after the polls and a secular Government on the pattern of UPA at the Centre will be formed in the State,'' Laloo said addressing a railway function in Chapra.

Spotlight: Bihar Elections

On Lok Janashakti Party (LJP), he said, Ram Vilas Paswan's party had seized to exist as his party MLAs had already deserted him.

Defending the dissolution of the Assembly, he said, ''The communal forces were trying to come to power in Bihar through horse-trading of MLAs forcing the centre to take the step to foil their nefarious efforts.''

After winning power through foul means in Bihar, the NDA's next target was the communist regime in neighbouring West Bengal, and ''I impressed upon the Left parties to nail them''.

Bihar - Party Position

Laloo appealed to the people to be alert this time and defeat the communal forces in the Assembly polls.

Earlier, Laloo inaugurated a newly constructed platform and opened an unreserved computerised ticketing system at Chapra station.
