Kerala bypolls: CPM led LDF wins Assembly seats

Kannur: The CPM (Communist Party of India-Marxist) led LDF (Left Democratic Front) today (June 5, 2005) retained the Koothuparamba and Azhikode Assembly seats in Kerala thrashing its UDF (United Democratic Front) rivals by huge margins.

In Koothuparamba, CPM's P Jayarajan retained the seat defeating his Congress rival K Prabhakaran by a margin of over 45,000 votes and in Azhikode CPM candidate M Prakasan won by trouncing his UDF rival from CMP, C A Ajeer by a margin of 23,000 votes.
