Goa: CLP to meet tomorrow to decide on new CM
Sunday, June 5 2005 13:52 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Panaji: The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in Goa will meet tomorrow (Jun 6, 2005) to decide on its leader amidst indications that the race for Chief Ministership may be limited to Pratapsinh Rane, Ravi Naik and Lusinho Faleiro.

Hectic parleys are on among Congress and its allies for formation of a Government after they stormed back to power winning four of the five Assembly bypolls.

"The Congress Legislature Party will meet tomorrow morning to decide its leader. Today, all the candidates want to meet their workers. That is why we are meeting tomorrow. We will consult our allies and then meet the Governor with our claim", GPCC (Goa Pradesh Congress Committee) Chief Ravi Naik said.

When asked if there was any issue over the leadership, he said, "Whoever is made the leader, they would be happy. There will be a unanimous choice tomorrow and there is no question of any tussle. The credit for this cannot go to one person, it has to be shared by all".
