UP bypolls: RLD wins Khairagarh Assembly seat

Lucknow: Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) nominee Amar Singh was declared elected from Khairagarh assembly while BSP's (Bahujan Samajwadi Party) Puja Pal was leading in Allahabad (West) by 25,000 votes as counting for four Assembly seats of June 2 bypoll was taken up today (June 5, 2005).

According to reports received from the district headquarters, Samajwadi party nominees established early leads over their rivals in Haiserbazar and Varanasi (north) Assembly constituency.

Rabia Begum (SP) was leading by a margin of over five thousand votes over her nearest BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) rival Ravindra Jaiswal in Varanasi (North) Assembly.
