Final hearing on DA case against Laloo adjourned Monday, June 6 2005 12:28 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

The designated CBI judge Yogendra Prasad today (Jun 6, 2005) adjourned till June 21 the final hearing on the disproportionate assets (DA) case against Railway Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Laloo Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi following his promotion as district judge of Munger in Bihar.
Prasad said he had already been transferred to Munger as district judge and he would be taking charge within a week.
"Therefore, the hearing on the DA case stands adjourned till June 21," he said.
Special Public Prosecutor (CBI) L R Ansari said the Patna High Court would notify a new judge in place of Prasad.
Ansari said the trial of the case charging Laloo with having accumulated wealth worth over Rs 46 lakh disproportionate to his known sources of income when he was Bihar Chief Minister between 1990 and 1997, was "at its final stage".
Prasad was the fourth designated CBI judge in charge of the fodder scam cases. Rabri Devi is a co-accused in the case, an offshoot the Rs 950 crore fodder scam.
