2 killed, many injured as train derails near Indore

Indore: Two persons were killed and several others injured when the Chittorgarh-Mhow (train no 489) special holiday train derailed today (Jun 6, 2005) near Ratlam railway station, a railway police official said Indore.

Mishap occurred nearly one km away from the Ratlam railwaly station, Railway SP V N Pachouri told sources.

The engine and three bogies of the train derailed due to the mishap, he said, adding two persons were killed and several others were injured.

Injured were rushed to the nearby Ratlam Government hospital. And the senior railway officials has reached the SPO to supervise the rescue operation.

Further details about the mishap are awaited.
