L K Advani meets Vajpayee over resignation issue
Tuesday, June 7 2005 17:43 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: L K Advani, who resigned as BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) president, today (Jun 7, 2005) met former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee amidst requests from partymen for withdrawing his resignation.

Advani, who is said to be adamant on his decision, drove alone to residence of Vajpayee, who earlier in the day supported his statements on Pakistan founder Mohammed Ali Jinnah.

Vajpayee had also meetings with party leaders who had appealed to him to persuade Advani to take back his resignation.

After the 30-minute meeting, Advani left Vajpayee's residence without talking to reporters.
