Jinnah's 'ghost' has claimed another victim: Sena Wednesday, June 8 2005 13:55 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Mumbai:
Shiv Sena has said that Mohammad Ali Jinnah's 'ghost' has claimed another victim in the form of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president L K Advani who resigned yesterday (Jun 7, 2005) following the ruckus over his description of Pakistan's founder leader as secular.
"Jinnah was responsible for the bloody partition of India, which resulted in Mahatma Gandhi's killing. Now, by claiming Advani, it shows that Jinnah's ghost is very much alive," editorial in the party mouthpiece 'Saamna' today (Jun 8, 2005) said.
"Sindh province in Pakistan is birth place of refugees like Advani. The fact that 'evil storm' called Jinnah forced their migration to India is history and no one can change that," it said.
"Neither the BJP, Sangh Parivar nor the country can afford the ideological confusion created by Advani's praise of Jinnah," the paper said, adding, "Such confusion damages both the party and the country."
"When Advani showered praise on Jinnah in Pakistan and returned to India, it was clear that people in his parent organisation, the Sangh Parivar, will not allow him to live in peace and that is what happened," the editorial added.
