Former Nepali PM G P Koirala calls on Sonia Gandhi

New Delhi: Former Nepalese Prime Minister and leader of Nepali Congress Girija Prasad Koirala today (Jun 9, 2005) met Congress chief and United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi and exchanged views on bilateral relations.

External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh was also present during the 30-minute meeting the two leaders had at the official residence of Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi, sources said.

Koirala, who is heading a seven party alliance for restoration of democracy in the Himalayan Kingdom, met Natwar Singh yesterday (Jun 8, 2005) and discussed the situation in Nepal in the wake of the dismissal of the Sher Bhadur Deuba Government by King Gyanendra and its implications for both the countries.
