Kancheepuram: Kanchi Seer Jayendra Saraswathi was today (Jun 9, 2005) questioned in connection with a land deal case filed with the Special Investigation Team probing the Sankararaman murder case in which the Seer is one of the accused.

Talking to reporters, the ADSP Bhavaneeswari, who is heading the SIT, said the case related to a land deal carried out two years back.

Bhavaneeswari spent nearly two hours inside the ashram questioning the Seer.

The two Kanchi Shankaracharyas had returned to the ashram only yesterday after a gap of several months.
