Parading MLAs in Bihar: A 'political drama' by NDA Saturday, June 11 2005 10:09 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Patna:
Terming as "another political drama" enacted by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) by parading MLAs of the dissolved Bihar assembly before President A P J Abdul Kalam, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) yesterday (Jun 10, 2005) alleged that it confirmed the "malpractice and horse trading" it (the NDA) had indulged in.
"The NDA has moved the Supreme Court on the issue of dissolution and therefore, there was no need for the parade of MLAs of the dissolved house. It has been done out of sheer desperation," party spokesman and former Law Minister Shakeel Ahmed Khan told sources.
Khan alleged that the NDA could not stake claim to form the Government as it had lacked support of 122 MLAs required for a simple majority.
"And now (after dissolution of the house) they are saying they have support of majority of MLAs," Khan said.
"It is another political drama enacted by the communal and fascist forces to divert people's attention," he said and claimed that the parade had confirmed the charge of "malpractice and horse-trading" indulged in by the NDA".
