Pataudi & six others seeks more time from police
Saturday, June 11 2005 16:08 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Jhajjar (Haryana): Former Indian cricket Captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and his six accomplices, charged with killing a black buck, today (Jun 11, 2005) sought more time from Haryana police to make themselves available before it, even as police continued its search to arrest them.

Pataudi and six others, in a communication to Jhajjar police, have sought time till June 15 to present themselves before it, police sources said.

The accused, charged under the Wildlife Protection Act, sought more time saying the police notice had been served at their residence in their absence, the sources said.

Meanwhile, Jhajjar Superintendent of Police (SP) Hanief Qureshi refused to comment on the same but said efforts were being made to arrest the accused.

Raids at different places in Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh would continue to apprehend Pataudi and others, he said, adding they were expected to move an Environment Court in Faridabad.

However, court sources said the judge hearing cases related to environment was on leave till Monday next week.

Haryana police yesterday (Jun 10, 2005) drew blank in its efforts to nab Pataudi and others after raids at various places in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

Pataudi and others were charged with Wild life Protection Act for allegedly killing a endangered black buck and two rabbits in a wildlife sanctuary here.
