Shortly after the feud between him and his elder brother Mukesh became public last November, Anil had visited the temple and said he had come to pray for peace and tranquillity in the family and seek strength to carry forward the legacy of his late father Dhirubhai Ambani who created the largest private sector conglomerate from a scratch.

The seven-month-long family dispute was settled yesterday (Jun 18, 2005) with the mother announcing the resolution of ownership issues between her two sons after a night-long family meeting.

As part of the settlement, Anil gets Reliance Energy, Reliance Infocomm and Reliance Capital while elder brother Mukesh, who along with his wife flew to Goa yesterday to attend the marriage of the daughter of his close lieutenant Anand Jain, would retain flagship company RIL and IPCL along with some other group companies.
