Jhajjar (Haryana): The Chief Judicial Magistrate hearing the high-profile Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi poaching case today (Jun 20, 2005) said he had been receiving threatening calls against granting bail to the former cricket captain.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Sudhir Jiwan made the disclosure in the courtroom in Jhajjar after granting bail to Pataudi who had been in police custody for the last two days.

However, he did not reveal from whom he had got the calls.

Pataudi, who had been accused along with seven others of killing a black buck and two hares, had surrendered before the court on Saturday (Jun 18, 2005) after evading arrest for a fortnight.

He was sent to a day's police custody, which was extended by another day yesterday (Jun 19, 2005). Some organisations and communities have accused the police of going slow in the investigations into the case.
