Remaining two accused in Pataudi case surrender

Jhajjar: The remaining two accused in the endangered black buck hunting case allegedly involving former cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi also surrendered at a local court in Jhajjar today (Jun 23, 2005).

Daya Suddin and Karam Singh, whose name also figure in the FIR along with six others surrendered in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Sudhir Jiwan who remanded them to a police custody for a day.

With the surrender of the two, all the eight accused in the case have given themselves up. Madan Singh was the only accused who was arrested by police early this month.

Six of the accused, including Pataudi are now on bail.

Dayal Singh, driver of Shashi Singh and an accused in this case, who had surrendered yesterday (Jun 22, 2005) filed a bail plea which will come up for hearing in the local court tomorrow (Jun 24, 2005).

Pataudi and seven others were booked by Haryana police under various sections of the Wildlife Protection Act for hunting a black buck, an endangered species near a wildlife sanctuary in Jhajjar on June 3.

An FIR was registered against them two days later. If found guilty they face a jail term of upto seven years and a fine of Rs 25,000.
