Babbar Khalsa's 'human bomb' arrested in New Delhi
Tuesday, June 28 2005 12:16 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Delhi Police today (Jun 28, 2005) arrested a Babbar Khalsa militant who was "to be used as a human bomb" by the outfit, a senior police official said.

Satnam Singh had been prepared by the militant group to be used as a human bomb and investigations were on to know the target, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Tajinder Luthra told sources.

Some arms and ammunition were also recovered from the accused who was arrested by the Crime Branch sleuths, he said.

Delhi Police had earlier this month arrested Jagtar Singh Hawara, Chief of Pakistan-based militant outfit's India operations and an accused in assassination of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh.

Two other militants were also arrested in connection with May 22 twin blasts in cinema halls in the national capital. Hawara, described by the police as a "very big catch", had plans to kill some politicians and bureaucrats.
