Stamp scam: Judicial custody of accused extended Tuesday, June 28 2005 21:02 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

The special MCOCA court, hearing the multi-crore fake stamp paper case, today (Jun 28, 2005) extended till July 22 the judicial custody of all the accused, including the kingpin Abdul Karim Telgi.
Special Judge P B Birajdar extended the judicial custody of the accused, numbering around 60, through video conferencing between the MCOCA court and Yerawada Central Prison.
While four accused are on bail, one police officer died in the jail a couple of months back.
The matter was listed in the court of Judge Birajdar in the absence of Special Judge P R Deshpande, who is in Mumbai on official work.
The hearing in the stamp case registered in Pune and other places in Maharashtra is being conducted by Deshpande after the transfer of judge S M Shembole to Aurangabad as a member of Maharashtra State Cooperative Appellate Court.
