Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today (Jun 29, 2005) re-constituted its organisational structure and elected its International Working President Ashok Singhal as its President while firebrand leader Praveen Togadia was re-elected as the General Secretary.
"Since VHP President Vishnu Hari Dalmia has opted to become part of the Advisory Committee, Ashok Singhal is formally elected as President of the VHP in the meeting of International Central Committee of the Parishad," Togadia told reporters in Amritsar.
Senior Vice President of VHP Acharya Giriraj Kishore also opted to include himself in the Advisory Committee, he added.
Other newly elected office bearers of the VHP include vice presidents -- Anand Shankar Pandya, Raghavendra Rao, S Vedantam, P Ramchandran, Ashok Rao Chogle, Subhash Kapur and Mahesh Bhai Mehta.
Elected Joint Secretaries are Onkar Bhave, Srigopal Vyas, Balkrishan Naik and Shyam Gupta while G Pullareddy has been elected as Chief Treasurer of the Parishad.
Newly constituted Advisory Panel includes Vishnu Hari Dalmiya, Acharya Giriraj Kishore, Sujit Dhar, Satyanarayan Bhagchandka, Hariatmaram Samtani, Anand Shankar Pandya, Shrishchandra Dikshit, Sadanand Kakde and Shail Didi.
