Grant arrested; remanded to custody till July 8

Mumbai: British national Duncan Andrew Grant, wanted in a child abuse case of 2003, was arrested after his arrival at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai early this morning (Jun 30, 2005).

After his arrival at 0230 hrs (IST), Grant was taken to Colaba police station in south Mumbai and later produced before a metropolitan court, which remanded him to police custody till July 8, police said.

He is facing allegation of sexually abusing children of an orphanage in the city along with two other accused, who have already been arrested.

Grant had filed an application through his lawyer informing that he wished to surrender before a local court in the alleged case of child abuse.
