London:
In a remark signifying the growing Indo-US cooperation, US President George Bush has said that he would discuss sharing nuclear power technologies with India when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh visits Washington next month.
"I'm a big believer that nuclear power, the newest generation of nuclear power, ought to be a source of energy and we ought to be sharing these technologies with developing countries. I'm going to talk to the Prime Minister of India about that when he comes to see me," Bush said in an interview to 'The Times' daily.
Singh would be visiting the United States from July 18 at the invitation of Bush.
A number of agreements are expected to be firmed up and several initiatives announced during the visit.
On climate change, a major issue that would figure in the forthcoming G-8 Summit at Gleneagles in Scotland, Bush said, "I believe that greenhouse gases are creating a problem, a long-term problem that we got to deal with."
"And we are - step one of dealing with it is to fully understand the nature of the problem so that the solutions that follow make sense."
"There's an interesting confluence now between dependency upon fossil fuels from a national economic security perspective, as well as the consequences of burning fossil fuels for greenhouse gases."
