Manmohan assures all help to rain-battered Gujarat

New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today (July 1, 2005) spoke to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on telephone and assured all help to the rain-battered State badly hit by floods.

"The Prime Minister spoke to the Chief Minister and offered all help for flood relief," a PMO spokesman said.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil left for Gujarat on a two-day visit to assess the flood situation.

Patil will be undertaking an aerial survey of the major flood affected areas and give a report to the Government on his return tomorrow (July 2, 2005).
