New Delhi:
A Delhi court today (July 2, 2005) sent to six-day CBI custody Amit Jogi, son of former Chattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, who has been arrested in connection with the murder of an NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) leader.
Metropolitan magistrate V K Khanna remanded Jogi till July 8, accepting CBI's plea seeking more time "to unearth the conspiracy behind the murder, to recover some weapons and investigate some money transactions."
Jogi was arrested yesterday (July 1, 2005) by the CBI after being questioned for five hours in connection with the murder of Ram Avtar Jaggi two years ago, which had created a political storm in Chattisgarh.
Jogi has been charged with murder and criminal conspiracy.
The CBI claimed it has concrete evidence that Amit had financed and planned an assault on Jaggi through his friend Surya Kant Patil.
