Amit falsely implicated as part of conspiracy: Jogi Saturday, July 2 2005 16:30 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Former Chattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi today (July 2, 2005) claimed that his son Amit, arrested in a murder case, was being "falsely implicated" as part of a conspiracy by his political opponents.
"Amit Jogi is completely innocent. He is being falsely implicated for political reasons," he said in New Delhi.
"Just as in the Mahabharata, when Arjun could not be defeated, Abhimanyu was trapped by his enemies in the 'chakravyuh'. My rivals and opponents in different political parties, knowing that they will not be able to defeat Arjun, are now targetting Abhimanyu," he said, adding his political rivals were now after Amit.
Asked if people from his own party were also involved in targetting Amit, he said, "As I have said, my political opponents have kept on attacking me. This keeps happening in politics. But it is sad that politics has been brought down to such a low level."
Jogi said his son had never even seen Ram Avtar Jaggi, murdered NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) leader in Chattisgarh, leave alone known him. "I have full faith in the judiciary. Soon, the truth will come out. He (Amit) is innocent and he has nothing to do with it (Jaggi murder)," he said.
