Pune: The MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) court in Pune today (July 2, 2005) allowed the Bangalore-based lawyer of Abdul Karim Telgi, the prime accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper case, to meet the latter at the Yerawada Jail, where the kingpin is lodged.

Following an application filed by Telgi's lawyer Milind Pawar praying that M T Nanaya, the prime accused's advocate conducting fake stamp paper cases in Bangalore, be given permission to meet him, special judge B N Deshpande gave directions to the Yerawada Jail authorities in this regard.

Pawar's application said that Nanaya, who looks after Telgi's case in Bangalore, wants to meet him for legal consultation and to seek some instructions.

Judge Deshpande, in his brief order noted on the application, directed the Yerawada authorities to do the needful as per the jail manual.

Nanaya would be communicated the order and then he would decide on his own as per his convenience when to schedule his meeting with Telgi, Pawar said adding, at the earliest, it would be held sometime next week.
