K'taka to felicitate mega star Rajkumar on July 9

Bangalore: Come July 9. All roads will lead to the sprawling palace grounds in Bangalore when the Karnataka Government would celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Kannada mega star Rajkumar's foray into the celluloid world.

The Kannada icon would be felicitated in recognition of his multi-faceted contribution to the state's heritage, culture, theatre and film industry in the presence of a galaxy of dignitaries from all walks of life, Minister for Information B Shivaramu reporters in Bangalore.

A 200-page book "Bangaraada Manushya" (Golden man) which traces the contribution of Rajkumar to the theatre and Kannada film industry over the last 50 years would be released to mark the occasion which the Government has named as "saarthaka suvarna" (a fulfilling golden jubilee), he said.

Rajkumar, who has won nine State awards, besides the prestigious Dada Phalke award in 1996 has so far acted in 205 films.
