Amit to undergo lie detector & brain mapping tests
Monday, July 4 2005 14:24 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Amit Jogi, son of Congress MP and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, will undergo a lie detector and brain mapping tests as he continued to deny any involvement in the murder of State's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Treasurer Ram Avtar Jaggi two years back.

CBI sources said Amit will be subjected to polygraphic test, prior to which he would be asked to fill a bond which notifies that he was undergoing the test willingly. In case of his refusal to undergo the test, the denial will become a circumstantial evidence against him in the court of law, the sources said.

The second step would be subjecting him to brain mapping test at Ahmedabad-based CFSL, which would also be used as a part of evidence against him, the sources said.

Referring to his last three days of questioning by the sleuths of Special Crime unit of the CBI, the sources said though the junior Jogi had denied his involvement in the case, the agency has enough proof to nail him in the court of law.

Refusing to divulge the nature of proof, the sources claimed CBI case against Amit was not built only on the confessional statement of Baltu Pathak and Suresh (two of the accused arrested in the case) but the agency had "hard evidence" against him as well.

After the completion of his six-day CBI custody, the agency would produce him before the designated court in Raipur where the case has been booked.
