S Varadarajan, an expert in Radar Systems Engineering and Radar Data Processing, has taken over as Director of Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE) - a premier Radar Development Laboratory of Defence Research and Development Organisation, Ministry of Defence.
An alumnus of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore with ME in Electrical Communication Engineering, he has 25 years of experience in the field, a defence release said.
He was engaged in the development of Indra class of Radars and Battle Field Surveillance Radar. These two radars are in the service of Indian Armed Forces.
He has received many awards including DRDO Scientist of the year award, and Agni award for excellence in self-reliance for his outstanding contribution to these two radars.
A member of various professional bodies, Varadarajan has presented many research papers in National and International fora, it was stated.
