BJP & RSS insulting security forces, says Laloo
Wednesday, July 6 2005 19:35 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Patna: Accusing the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and other Sangh Parivar outfits of trying to play 'dirty communal politics' over yesterday's terror strike at Ayodhya, RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) supremo Laloo Prasad today (July 6, 2005) said that their reaction to the attack amounted to 'insulting' the security forces who had valiantly foiled the attempts to storm the makeshift temple.

Spotlight: The Ayodhya crisis

''The reactions by the Sangh Parivar, including the BJP, to the strike is an insult to the jawans who risked their lives while combating the terrorists and killed them before any harm could be done to the Ramjanmabhoomi complex,'' Prasad said in a press statement.

Prasad also reminded the saffron party leaders of similar attacks by terrorists on Parliament and Akshardham temple in Gujarat when they were ruling at the Centre.

Referring to the countrywide protest being observed by the BJP against yesterday's incident, Prasad wondered if the saffron party leaders, who, he alleged, had perpetrated attacks on places of worships, pulled down the mosque and damaged the churches, had the moral right to protest.

''We strongly condemn the Sangh and the organisations associated with it for playing communal politics on such a sensitive issue,'' he said urging the people not to be misled by them.
