Ayodhya: Local guide among six killed in attack Wednesday, July 6 2005 19:16 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Ayodhya:
A local guide, whose house was adjacent to the scene of yesterday's (July 5, 2005) terror attack in Ayodhya, was among the six killed and his family today (July 6, 2005) said it will make a claim for the body with the police.
Identifying him as Ramesh Pandey, his nephew Venkatesh Pandey told newsmen here that he was able to recognise his uncle from the watch, chappals and cloths that remained on his badly mutilated body.
His family operated as guides and approached any visitor who came to the temple town for paying obeisance at the makeshift temple, Venkatesh said.
He said his uncle did the same yesterday when he saw the jeep, used in the attack, and "must have been killed when militants blew it up" to remove the barricade to gain access to the temple premises.
The family members had recognised Ramesh yesterday itself but chose to keep mum fearing that his uncle may be branded as a terrorist, Venkatesh said.
He also said that the family will be lodging an FIR with the police stating that Ramesh has been killed by terrorists and claim the body.
Ferozabad Commissioner had yesterday said that all the six militants involved in the attack were killed.
