BJP hold demos in Tamil Nadu Against Ayodhya issue

Chennai: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today (July 6 2005) held demonstrations across Tamil Nadu protesting against the terrorists attack on Ram Janma Bhoomi complex even as the police beefed up security in places of worship.

The BJP national Secretary L Ganesan, Tamil Nadu unit President C P Radhakrishnan and former union ministers S Thirunavukkarasar and Pon Radhakrishnan led the demonstration at Chennai near the central railway station.

Demonstrators shouted slogans demanding resignations of the Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, owning moral responsibility for yesterday's (July 5 2005) incident.

Reports of similar demonstrations led by the respective district unit presidents and office bearers were received from the district headquarters.

Meanwhile, police said all places of worship and important installations had been provided with adequate security. No untoward incidents were reported from anywhere, the sources added.
