Allahabad High Court order no setback: Advani Thursday, July 7 2005 12:20 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) President L K Advani today (July 7, 2005) refused to term the Allahabad High Court order in the Babri Masjid demolition case as a setback, saying "Koi dikkat ki baat nahin hai."
"Koi dikkat ki baat nahin hai (There is nothing to worry about)," Advani told reporters here (New Delhi).
"The case has been going on for years, will go on for some more time. There are others also named in the case along with me, and it is for the lawyers to work on the case. I have very little to do," he said.
The BJP chief also said that the court order would not harm the party. "It will not affect the party in any way," Advani said.
The Allahabad High Court yesterday (July 6, 2005) set aside a Rae Bareli Court's order discharging Advani from the Babri Masjid demolition case.
The court also dismissed five revision petitions filed by BJP leaders Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and Vinay Katiyar, VHP leaders Ashok Singhal, Acharya Giriraj Kishore and Vishnu Hari Dalmiya and sadhvi Ritambaram challenging the Rae Bareli court order for going ahead with the trial against them.
