Chandrashekhar to leave for US for treatment t'rrow

New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar will be leaving for US tomorrow (July 8, 2005) for treatment at the Vincent Comprehensive Cancer Care Institute at New York.

Shekhar has been ailing for quite some time and had been admitted to a private hospital in New Delhi last month.

A number of leaders including Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and several Union Ministers have met the septuagenarian leader in recent days to inquire about his health.
