Thursday, July 7 2005 18:55 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Gleneagles (Scotland): Expressing grief and outrage over the terrorist attacks in London today (July 7, 2005), Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said it underscored the contention that terrorism was a global scourge that has to be tackled through concerted efforts.

Singh, who is in Scotland to participate in the G-8 summit, said the London blasts only underscored contention that terrorism is a global scourge that needed to be tackled through concerted efforts.

"Just a couple of days back, India faced a major terrorist attack and these incidents shows that global terrorism does not recognise international boundaries and we all need to work together to counter it," Singh said in a brief statement issued here.
