London: More than 50 people were killed in the terror attacks on London's underground railway and a bus, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Ian Blair told a news conference today (July 8, 2005).

Meanwhile, British officials told journalists in London that the bombs that exploded on three London underground trains yesterday (July 7, 2005) were probably placed on the floor of the carriages and there was no indication they were the work of suicide bombers.
