Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Shiv Shanker Mukherjee, is going to New Delhi today (July 9, 2005) for consultations regarding the current situation in the kingdom.
Ambassador Mukherjee is leaving Kathmandu for Delhi on July 9, 2005 for a consultative visit, said Sanjay Verma, Councillor, Press and Information, Indian Embassy.
He will give a briefing about the current situation in Nepal during his talks with high-level officials in New Delhi. This will be his third visit to Delhi for consultations
following the February one royal takeover in Nepal.
India recently resumed some non-lethal military supplies to Nepal as part of its defence assistance to the Royal Nepalese Army, which is fighting Maoist insurgency.

India has joined countries like Britain and the US in asking Nepal to restore multi-party democracy, civil liberties and press freedom.
Nepal's top political leaders, including Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala and former Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa, recently visited New Delhi and held talks with top officials and politicians regarding current political situation in Nepal.
