JK: Patil asks security officials to be extra alert

Amarnath (Jammu and Kashmir): Against the backdrop of terror attacks in Ayodhya, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil today (July 10, 2005) asked security officials to be extra alert while guarding the route of the annual Amarnath pilgrimage.

Pointing out that the terrorists could come in any disguise, Patil said a security review meeting in Amarnath that forces would have to remain extra alert.

He also asked the security officials to frisk all visitors thoroughly before allowing them to proceed on the pilgrimage.

Earlier Patil offered prayers at the cave shrine.
