Senior Karnataka Minister Mallikarjun Kharge is the new KPCC (Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee) Chief while former MP Shamsher Singh Dullo is the Punjab PCC (Pradesh Congress Committee) chief, the Congress Party said today (July 13, 2005) announcing the names of five new state unit party chiefs.
Former Chief Minister Samir Ranjan Burman is the Tripura PCC Chief while Pradeep Balmuchu is the head of the Jharkhand unit, AICC (All India Congress Committee) General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi said and adding that Bikram Singh Parmar will head the Dadra and Nagar Haveli unit.
With this announcement, the total number of new PCC chiefs named so far went up to 26.
All the five PCC chiefs appointed today are new faces.
While former Union Minister Janardhana Poojary was the head of the Karnataka unit, H S Hanspal was in Punjab, Sushila Kerketta in Jharkhand, Birjeet Singh in Tripura and Natwar Singh Chauhan in Dadra-Nagar Haveli.
