Nat'l Film Awards: 'Page 3' wins Best Film award

New Delhi: 'Page 3', the story of a woman journalist covering the cocktail circuit, was declared the Best Film as the National Film Awards were announced today (July 13, 2005).

'Veer Zaara', the story of a love story between an Indian Air Force officer and a Pakistan girl, won the Best Popular Film award along with Tamil movie 'Autograph'.

The head of the jury Sudhir Mishra declared that 'Bose', a movie on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose', had won the Nargis Dutt award for National Integration.

Saif Ali Khan was declared the Best Actor for 'Hum Tum' while Tara won the Best Actress trophy for Kannada film 'Haseena' at the 52th edition of the awards.

The Best Director was Buddhadev Dasgupta for Bengali film 'Swapner Din' while Om Utkar was declared the Best Child Actor for 'Chotta Sipahi'.

Udit Narayan won the Best Male Playback award for 'Yeh Tara Woh Tara' in 'Swades' while Chitra Subramaniam was the Best Female Playback artist for 'Autograph'.

Mahesh Atre won the Best Cinematography award for 'Swades' and B Vijay was declared the Best Lyricist for 'Autograph'.

'Page 3' also bagged the Best Screenplay and Best Editing awards while Samir Chandra was the Best Art Director for 'Bose'. Kannada film 'Haseena' had the best costumes.

Rituparno Ghosh's 'Raincoat' was declared the Best Hindi Film while Marathi 'Girni' by Umesh Vinayak Kulkarni won the Best Non-Feature Film Award.
