Pakistan asks India to hold 'proper investigation'
Saturday, July 16 2005 11:03 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Islamabad: As the investigations into the recent terrorist attack in Ayodhya pointed to the banned Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba, Islamabad today (Jul 16, 2005) asked India to conduct "proper investigations" to establish true identity of the attackers.

Reacting to the reports of LeT's involvement in the attack, Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesman Jalil Abbas Jilani said Islamabad had strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Ayodhya.

"As far as the incident is concerned, it is imperative that the matter is properly investigated to establish true identity of the attackers," he said.

"It is a common knowledge that sometime police authorities apportion blame on foreign elements in order to avoid responsibilities to apprehend the real culprits," a Foreign Office press release quoted him as saying.
