Controversial RJD MP Mohammed Shahabuddin is once again in deep trouble with police moving a local court here seeking issue of non-bailable warrants of arrest against him and others in three separate criminal cases including one charging him with conspiring against the nation and collecting arms with an intention to endanger national unity.
The Investigating Officer of the case Ranvijay Singh yesterday (July 15, 2005) prayed for warrants of arrest against Shahabuddin and others in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate here.
He also sought the court's approval for prosecuting Shahabddin under sections 121, 121 (a), 122 and 123 relating to charges of sedition in case no. 44/05 registered by police in connection with recovery of bullet-proof jacket, telescopic rifles, foreign crrency and Pakistani cartridges during raids on his ancestral house at Pratappur in the District on April 24 last.
The IO had also sought a warrant of arrest against the MP under Arms act.
Besides, Singh had also filed a petition for a warrant of arrest against Munshi Mian, another accused in the instant case involving the recovery of firearms and cartridges.
Sub-Inspector Gauri Kumar of town police station here had also petitioned the court for a warrant of arrest against the MP from Siwan in a case relating to power theft.
