Film delegates meet Munde on Salman issue Sunday, July 17 2005 11:02 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Mumbai:
A delegation of film fraternity today met the BJP leader Gopinath Munde here and urged him to restrain his party workers from staging violent protests and indulging in destruction at theatres screening the Salman Khan starred "Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya" against the actor's alleged underworld links.
The 30-member delegation told Munde that Salman alone was not associated with the film and there were several other artists who had contributed their mite towards the success of the film.
They also told Munde that the film should not be targeted and urged him to restrain his party workers, which had pulled down and torn banners of the film at theatres all over the state and even "damaged" prints of the movie in some places.
Munde assured the delegation that he would look into the matter, BJP sources said.
The delegation included Pahlaj Nihalani, David Dhavan, Sushmita Sen and Boney Kapoor.
